Walking & sightseeing holidays in Australasia
A region deep in the Southern Hemisphere with both an exotic and familiar feel that’s simply fabulous when it comes to exploring on foot.
Our focus in this area are the two islands that make up New Zealand – north and south – now immortalised as the location for the Lord of the Rings films. There is so much to see and do that only a longer holiday to New Zealand can possibly do the country justice. The relatively sparse population means that there are vast areas of beautiful wilderness left to explore and enjoy on a walking holiday in New Zealand. North Island – centre for Maori traditions – is home to boiling volcanic mud pools, the other-worldly lands of Tongariro and the rainforests of Waiotapu. South Island is cooler and more mountainous with wonderful walking areas, where you can tramp on the Abel Tasman coast and Great Walks including the classic Milford and Routeburn Tracks.
